Marker update 20 June 2008 Marker update 20 June
The final weekend for marking has arrived The end of the marking period is nearly upon us, so this is the last weekend for marking. You need to have marked all scripts before the marking deadline. The marking deadlines are detailed below.
To meet the marking deadlines, you must have: · completed script verification for all pupils · captured and submitted marks online, and · passed all benchmarking exercises.
Thank you for completing marking by the deadlines to ensure results are returned to schools on time.
Incentive payment To recognise the time and commitment of those markers who mark and return their standard allocation, there is a taxable £100 incentive payment.
To be eligible, you must have: · completed marking your standard allocation · captured the marks online by the marking deadline · either requested a collection, or have the materials packaged ready for the final script collection.

Packaging and returning marked scripts To prepare for the collection of your marked scripts, please pack scripts and write 'MARKED SCRIPTS' clearly on top of the boxes with a marker pen. Detailed instructions on packing the marked scripts ready for collection can be found in the UPS parcel carriage instructions (PDF 755KB) in the ‘2008 document library’ on www.makingamark.org.uk. Please ensure that you return any unused stationery, including return subject labels, with your scripts.
If you need any more stationery, bags or boxes, please call the marker helpdesk on 0870 1614529.
Arranging collection of scripts When the scripts are packed and ready for collection, you have three options:
By arranging the collection yourself rather than waiting for the final script collection, you can:
For additional advice on arranging a collection with UPS, please see this information on How_to_arrange_your_UPS_script_pick-up_(PDF_384KB) in the ‘2008 document library’ on www.makingamark.org.uk. If you need UPS to collect your scripts from somewhere other than your home, such as your school, then you can change your collection address on the UPS website here or via the UPS helpdesk on 08457 877 877.
Please remember that if you have a permanent change of address, you need to inform the marker helpdesk so that we can amend your details as the final script collection will come to your contracted marker address.
If you have any difficulties, please contact the marker helpdesk on 0870 1614529.
Payments As of 20 June, all markers have been paid their script marking fee. This payment is for all scripts marked up until 10 June and up to the fourth benchmark. The next round of script payments will be made on the 4 July.
Compensation All markers who had not received an attempted delivery by the end of 18 June 2008 will qualify for the £250 compensation payment.
Thank you We are extremely grateful for your hard work to date. |
