It has come to ETS Europe’s attention that an unauthorised “spam” email with a virus attachment, purporting to come from UPS.com but is being sent by an unknown third party, has been targeting various recipients (please read the UPS statement below).
Please be aware that UPS do not send any bills or requests for money to markers directly. All distribution costs for the marking operation are borne by ETS Europe.
If you have received this email please delete it immediately. Do not open the attachment nor enter or send any personal details you may be asked for.
Please always ensure that you have up-to-date anti-virus protection software and firewalls installed on your computer.
Neither ETS Europe nor UPS can be held liable for the unauthorised actions of third parties.
UPS state: "We have become aware that an as yet unknown third party is sending an e-mail that resembles a genuine UPS message to various recipients. The message leads the reader to believe that a UPS shipment could not be delivered. The reader is advised to open an attachment reportedly containing a waybill for the shipment to be collected.
This e-mail attachment contains a virus. We recommend that you do not open the attachment, but delete the e-mail immediately.
UPS may send official notification messages on occasion, but they rarely include attachments. If you receive a notification message that includes an attachment and are in doubt about its authenticity, please contact us on ups.com.
