Incentive scheme

What is the incentive scheme?

We are pleased to announce a financial incentive programme for all markers who mark their materials to the required quality standard and returned their scripts by the published deadlines. The programme will work as follows:

All markers who mark and return at least their standard contractual allocation of test papers by the published deadlines of 23 June for key stage 3 and 26 June for key stage 2 will receive an extra taxable incentive payment of £100.

The purpose of this payment is to recognise the time and commitment shown by all markers who helped us meet our deadline for return of results to schools.

This payment will be made upon completion of the marking cycle to all markers impacted, and will be included with markers’ final payment.

Will all markers receive the incentive payment even though markers received scripts at varying times?

We want to provide an incentive and reward all markers who are helping us meet the deadline. Anyone who completes the marking of their standard allocation by the marking deadline will be eligible for the incentive.

I have marked scripts that were not originally allocated to me. I marked them on paper and, as they were not on my original allocation, I am not able to enter them onto the making a mark website. Will I get paid for them? Will I still be eligible for the £100 bonus?

If you marked the scripts you were sent on time and, if the reason you were not able to capture your marks online was our fault, not yours, we will still pay you the £100 bonus.  This is a very rare occurrence.
