General marking FAQs I'm a team leader - who is in my team?
Who is my team leader?
Who should I call when I can't get through to the helpdesk? If the helpdesk are unable to answer your call, please send us an email and we will respond as soon as we can. We recognise that the quality of service delivered by the Helpdesk has not been good enough. This was due to the impact of an extremely high volume of calls and emails. In response, we have increased the number of customer service representatives and added additional phone lines. To ensure you get the most up to date information and all of your queries are answered, we have also created a dedicated team who will answer your outstanding enquiries. I have forgotten my marker password. What do I do? If you have forgotten your password, when logging, click on 'Forgot your password' under your username and password and answer your secret question. A new password will be displayed on screen.
My secret word does not work. What do I do? Try entering your secret word again, but this time press the space bar once at the end of the word. The secret word is saved exactly as it was entered. Some markers have saved with a space at the end of their secret word. If this does not work, please contact the marker helpdesk on 0870 1614529 or email markers@testoperations.org.uk.
I am blocked from marking. What should I do? Please contact the marker helpdesk on 0870 1614529 or email markers@testoperations.or.uk.
Unfortunately I am unable to mark for the rest of the marking cycle. What do I do? Please contact the marker helpdesk on 0870 1614529 to inform us that you wish to withdraw from the 2008 marking cycle. You will be informed to package all scripts that you have received back into their matching script return envelopes and shipping boxes as outlined in the marker handbook for return of materials on completion of marking. The marker helpdesk will arrange a collection of scripts for you.
What is the deadline for returning marked scripts? If you finish marking and have successfully submitted all marks online before 23 June for key stage 3 and 26 June for key stage 2, it is important that you return you marked scripts at the earliest opportunity. When returning marked test scripts early, you should contact UPS directly to either arrange an early collection from your address or drop them off at your nearest UPS centre. The UPs help number is 08457 877 877. If you have not submitted your marks online by 23 June key stage 3 or 26 June for key stage 2, you will need to wait for a final collection from UPS. Final collections for key stage 2 are between 27 June and 1 July, and for key stage 3, 24 to 27 June.
Will the information on Making a mark be used in compliance with the Data Protection Act? The information collected is for the purpose of administering the employment and training of employees.
Who will my personal details be disclosed to? This information may be disclosed, as appropriate, to the NAA, the General Teaching Council, the Department for Children, Schools and Families, to payroll personnel providers and relevant statutory bodies.
I am a Braille marker and experiencing system issues. Can you tell me what is happening to resolve these? We have established a dedicated team to resolve these matters to ensure the process can be completed on time. Only a small number of people have been affected in this way so resolution will be prompt.
I have a lot of scripts to mark yet my friend/colleague/another marker has none, can I pass my scripts over to them to mark? No. Please do not transfer scripts to other markers yourself. All allocations and re-allocations are distributed by UPS. You must call UPS to arrange for a collection. UPS will then redistribute them to markers. The phone number for the UPS helpline is 0845 7877877.
I have received part of an allocation that was not on my allocations list. What will happen if I mark it or not? If you have already marked scripts that were not in your allocation, you should return the marked scripts and we will enter them online and credit you for them. If you have not already marked them then please send the scripts back to ETS. |
